Its main driving purpose is solely for the preparations, coordinations, communications, and co-operations towards Merrie Monarchʻs 50th Anniversary and Celebrations of the Kāne Hula. The name: "waimāpuna" in this specific function and usage, shall be deemed acceptable under the conditions set forth that all former men of Waimāpuna, its respective Nā Kumu Hula, and to each of their downlines shall have equal opportunity under the name that carries us. And shall not be misrepresented under false claim, self-gain, capitalize, monetize, or likewise. We must all share in this protection! No exceptions! The name, Waimāpuna, is the property of its original keepers - The Late Darrell Lupenui and the Late Muriel Lupenui (Darrellʻs Mother). Now, as former men of Waimāpuna, it comes with a heavy burden in its direct use and obligation. Verbal usage under certain guidelines, unique circumstances and discretion have come directly from a family source not to be named. But to be respected.
This website shall be the HUB. Information on MM details, instructions, manaʻo, audio files, costuming and more will be posted, updated, and maintained with the most recent information for YOUR BENEFIT!
As of this active website (www.waimpauna.com), we are given a duration of 8 months to prepare and 2 months in post. This will allow for the opportunity for all former men of Waimāpuna to reflect on MM2026 before the closure of the website. At which point, Chinky Mahoe and Blaine Kia (representing MM2026) will determine how best to protect the information generated from the website in perpetuity and in partnership with EO LEI ʻILIAHI Foundation. The website will then be shut down and obsolete from further use.
